The US Army Research Lab is diving into how OpenAI’s tech might shape military strategies—inside a video game. Researchers are testing OpenAI’s latest, GPT-4 Turbo and GPT-4 Vision, to get insights on simulated battlefields and strategize on attacks and defenses. Alongside, older AI models are being put to the test too.
The AIs were tasked with a mission: eliminate enemy forces and capture objectives. The results? A plethora of strategies, refined by user commands. While OpenAI’s models showed promise, they also led to higher simulated casualties.
This exploration is part of the broader US Army initiative to harness AI’s power, mirroring Project Maven’s achievements in locating threats and aiding in critical missions across Yemen, Iraq, and Syria.
As we march into this new era, the balance between innovation and ethical responsibility remains key. Will AI be the future general, or is it a step too far? Only time will tell.

Google Gemini, formerly known as Bard, is rolling out a fresh feature that empowers users to fine-tune AI-generated chatbot replies. No more rewriting entire texts—now you can pinpoint the exact part you want to modify!
Here’s how it works:
Select the text snippet you wish to tweak.
Click the magic wand icon.
Choose from options like Regenerate, Shorter, Longer, or Remove.
Additionally, you can instruct Gemini by typing your desired changes in the “Modify with a prompt” field. Keep in mind, though, that some requests may stump Gemini. It’s like having a chatbot editor at your fingertips!
Remember, with great AI power comes ethical responsibility. Let’s see how this innovation shapes our digital future!

An AI engineer at Microsoft has raised alarm bells about the company’s image generator. The system, which lacks proper safeguards, has been creating violent and sexualized images. Despite repeated warnings, Microsoft hasn’t taken action. The engineer, Shane Jones, even reported the issue to the Federal Trade Commission and Microsoft’s board of directors.
Jones revealed that internally, the company is aware of these problems. The product generates harmful images that could offend consumers. As a “principal software engineering manager,” Jones is pushing for change.
Meanwhile, OpenAI recently hosted its first developer conference, where industry leaders discussed AI advancements. But as AI flourishes, concerns about disinformation and offensive content persist.
Stay informed, and let’s keep AI accountable!
