Computer Use Feature: Claude 3.5 Sonnet can now control a computer’s interface, operating the cursor, clicking, and typing. This feature is in beta and available via API.

Steps to follow:

Lawsuit blames Character.AI for 14-year-old's death
A mother is suing Character.AI after her 14-year-old son became deeply attached to a chatbot, leading to mental health struggles and, ultimately, his tragic passing. He had expressed thoughts of suicide to the bot before his death. In response, Character.AI announced new safety measures, including time-use alerts and monitoring of chats for harmful content.
Notion is making a super customizable email app
Notion is launching a highly customizable email app ”Mail” in early 2025, allowing users to tailor their inbox with flexible views, layouts, and actions. The app will integrate with Notion’s AI to manage tasks like organizing, drafting, and scheduling. It will sync with Google accounts and support iOS and Android, with a waitlist now open for early access. Alongside the Mail app, Notion has introduced new Forms and layout customization tools to expand its all-in-one productivity platform.
The US Treasury used AI to prevent $4 billion in fraud in fiscal year 2024, a sixfold increase from the previous year. Of this, $1 billion targeted check fraud, while $3 billion involved other improper payments identified through machine learning to assess at-risk transactions.
