😱 OpenAI in Trouble Over ChatGPT Hallucinations

A new privacy complaint in Europe is shaking things up — this time over ChatGPT falsely accusing a Norwegian man of murdering his own children. Yes, you read that right.

The Details:

Privacy group Noyb filed the complaint after ChatGPT falsely claimed the man was convicted of double filicide, even naming his hometown and kids correctly — making the hallucination even more disturbing.
OpenAI currently offers no way to correct false information, only an option to block similar queries.
Under GDPR, individuals have the right to correct personal data — and “tiny disclaimers” don’t cut it, says Noyb.
OpenAI’s model has since stopped hallucinating this particular claim, likely due to recent updates — but concerns over data retention and liability still loom large
