Sam Altman has handed over the leadership of OpenAI's Startup Fund to Ian Hathaway.This move is designed to make sure the fund keeps growing and doing well. When the fund started in 2021 with Altman in charge, it didn't include his own money and was meant to be temporary.

Ian Hathaway, who has been with OpenAI since 2021, will now lead the Startup Fund. He brings a lot of investment knowledge from his previous work at Haystack.
The fund started with $175 million but has now grown to $325 million. This increase comes with big help from Microsoft and other investors from outside the company.
The fund aims to help new AI companies get off the ground, investing in different areas like healthcare, law, and education. It has supported well-known startups like Descript and Ghost Autonomy.
