Google DeepMind is forming a new team to develop advanced “world models” that simulate physical environments, led by Tim Brooks, a former OpenAI researcher. These models aim to create realistic training scenarios for robots, interactive media for games, and more. Google is testing Daily Listen, an AI tool that turns your Search and Discover feed history into a personalized podcast. Rolling out in the U.S. via Search Labs, it summarizes top stories based on your interests into a five-minute audio overview, complete with a transcript and playback controls.
Hippocratic AI has raised $141M in a Series B round led by Kleiner Perkins, valuing the startup at $1.64B. The two-year-old company develops AI agents for patient-facing tasks like pre-op prep and remote monitoring, addressing healthcare staff shortages. With contracts from 23 health systems in 2024, it plans global expansion.
