OpenAI has launched Canvas, a new feature designed to make interacting with ChatGPT more dynamic and efficient. The tool provides an editable workspace for writing and coding, enhancing user collaboration with AI.
The Details:
Canvas allows users to generate, edit, and refine content directly within a pop-out window, making it easier to improve AI-generated outputs. Users can highlight sections to ask for revisions, add comments, or adjust the length of written content.
Rolling out in beta for ChatGPT Plus and Teams users, Canvas will be available for Enterprise and Edu next week. It mirrors similar tools like Anthropic’s Artifacts but aims to enhance user engagement and productivity.
For coding, users can prompt ChatGPT to create code, add comments, and even review and suggest bug fixes, offering a smoother coding experience with real-time improvements.
OpenAI’s Canvas feature makes working with AI more intuitive, allowing users to adjust content without restarting prompts. As it continues to roll out, Canvas has the potential to become a game-changer for both writers and developers, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.
MICROSOFT
Microsoft has revealed plans to invest 4.3 billion euros in Italy to enhance the country’s AI and cloud-based data infrastructure. This strategic move aims to strengthen Italy’s digital position in the Mediterranean region.
The Details:
The investment, the largest by Microsoft in Italy, includes building data centers in Milan to serve the Mediterranean and North Africa, making them among Microsoft’s largest in Europe.
The plan aligns with Italy’s priorities during its presidency of the Group of Seven (G7), capitalizing on AI technology advancements.
Microsoft will launch a national AI Skilling Initiative, aiming to improve AI knowledge and technical skills for over 1 million Italians by 2025, including programs focused on AI business transformation and technical fluency.
The infrastructure will operate under Microsoft’s AI Access Principles, introduced earlier this year to govern AI data center operations globally.
Microsoft’s substantial investment in Italy will not only enhance the country’s digital infrastructure but also provide critical AI training, positioning Italy as a key player in AI development in the Mediterranean and beyond.
