The popular AI image generating service Midjourney has introduced a groundbreaking feature: the ability to create “consistent characters” across multiple generated images. Traditionally, AI image generators produce unique content for each prompt, hindering narrative continuity.

Here’s how to use it:

  • Start with a Midjourney character or its URL.

  • Include the character description and “-cref [URL]” in a new prompt.

  • Use "-cw" followed by a number from 100 to 0 to adjust AI's character reference focus. Higher numbers emphasize face, hair and clothes, while 0 focuses mainly on the face.

In a bold move, Walmart has harnessed generative AI to revolutionize event planning and online shopping. The retail giant aims to be a one-stop destination for consumers organizing special occasions. Walmart’s CEO, Doug McMillon, lauds the rapid improvement in search capabilities, powered by generative AI.

This success poses a threat to Google, reshaping the future of search functionalities. As Walmart establishes itself as an innovator, Google faces questions about its outlook.

The battle for dominance in the search engine realm intensifies, with Walmart’s gen AI search engine poised to disrupt the status quo.

NVIDIA

Nvidia, known for its powerful AI chips, is in legal hot water. Three authors, Brian Keene, Abdi Nazemian, and Stewart O'Nan, have sued the company. They claim Nvidia used their books illegally to train its NeMo AI, affecting around 196,640 books. This training aimed to enhance NeMo's language skills but was halted last October due to copyright issues.

The authors are now leading a lawsuit seeking compensation for U.S. writers whose works were used without consent over the past three years. Their collective action highlights the ongoing debate around AI and copyright, with Nvidia being the latest tech giant under scrutiny.

Despite the lawsuit, Nvidia's market value has soared, making it a top pick among investors. The company, however, remains tight-lipped on the issue.
